Things to keep in mind when planning a dog park:

• The Area! Is grading needed? How is the water drainage in the area? 
• Fencing! At least a 5ft fence is recommended for dog parks!
• Surfacing! Unlike playgrounds for our human kids, dog parks have no guidelines as to what or how deep the surfacing must be. 
• Shade & Lighting! For our outdoor parks it is important to have a portion of the area shaded, either or natural or artificial, to give both pets and humans a spot to cool off or be protected from unexpected weather. You will also want to consider lighting for the parks that will be open at later hours for the safety and convivence of your guests.
